Whereas The Terminator is more fixated on triumph and survival through an inevitable struggle and the virtue of mankind's ultimately unwillingness to submit. ![]() Terminator 2 muddies the pot, but I can see why, as it's thematically more hopeful and optimistic in spite of a consciously ambiguous future. The Terminator closes the loop better and has a stronger basis as a self contained work, when dealing with dumb time travel complications.
